ACHIA
The Alaska Comprehensive Health Insurance Association (ACHIA) provides health insurance to Alaska residents who have been denied coverage by other carriers. ACHIA was created by the Alaska State Legislature to provide access to health insurance coverage to all residents of the State who are unable to obtain individual health insurance and meet certain eligibility requirements. ACHIA FED
The temporary federal pool is a product of the new federal health reform law. The pool will be administered by the Alaska Comprehensive Health Insurance Association. The purpose of the new pool is to provide access to health insurance for individuals with qualifying pre-existing conditions who have been uninsured for at least six months.
